Residents near Beverly Gardens Park are shocked their neighborhood has become the site of multiple vapes police believe are the work of a serial vapist. Although the BHPD have managed to connect the 7 incidents of vape to a single suspect, citizens were despondent to hear the crime scenes have yielded little evidence to identify the suspect.
“Unfortunately, there not much to work with after a vape,” explains Detective Delgado, “Most of the evidence just vanishes into thin air.”
One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, believes the vapist is actually someone who resides within their own neighborhood.
“There are people living here who’s bedroom activities would disgust many,” explains the unidentified source, “Participating in depraved acts like bondage, S&M, and even vape-fantasies.”
Police asked citizens to call the city’s new vape prevention hotline if they smell a sweet or creamy scent in the air, as it may be a sign a vape is being committed. Much to the horror of local parents, the candy-like smell could lure young children into vape-culture.
“Its scary to entertain the thought,” says Barbara Hillcrest, a mother of 2, “But kids are curious and easily influenced. If this criminal continues unabated, I’m afraid of my sons getting pulled in and afraid of what they’ll become. I’m afraid of living with child vapists.”
Police have declined to comment on these speculations, and assured the public they are working hard to catch the perpetrator. In the meantime, this quiet neighborhood hasn’t been this shaken since 1997, when antique gun collector, Prescott Williams was charged with Armed Snobbery.
